Bugs, Babes, Boy oh Boy

Our last day in the Allegany Mountains Resort and there's only time for one last outing before teardown time.  We are parked next to a couple who have been members here for almost 30 years so they know the area, certainly better than us.  She was the one who gave us information and maps to the NY Amish Trail and also mentioned there was a sculpture garden just up the road.  So off we went.

And indeed it is less than 3 miles away.

We got there and took a few pictures.  It was no big deal on the surface.  Then this woman mentioned the trail and that we could take our dogs, contrary to the signs.

There's dozens more sculptures up "there" she says. So if you look closer than I did you'll notice that in fact that "restriction" has been outed.  We paid our $3 senior admission, hooked up the girls and off we went up the trail.

What a cute little welcoming gate.

I'm having visions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.  Is this a pod?

Don't get too far ahead guys.  A warm day, but the shade was heavenly with a nice breeze....in spite of the "pod" behind us on the trail.
Lordy Bee this dude just jumped out of the woods.

OMG!  A dragon fly?  Is this Jurassic Park?  Watch out girls!

Okay, I might as well try to name some of these.  I'm going to call this one Madonna.

This is water under a bridge.  hehehe...just kidding.

Hey, your guess is as good as mine on this one.  Maybe it's a warning.

I'm thinking Bill might classify these as "babes".  This is the "Bathers" area of the sculpture gardens.

So it's not Venus, this one has two arms.

I think someone should call in CSI.

This one is so graceful.

Maybe the water is too cold?

This is my favorite.  Baby won't you take a bow.

Off we go across the field.  I'm thinking a little bit of Roswell?

An obelisk and hmmmm.  Oh well, worth a picture with Bill and the girls.

Bugs and insects...whoooohooo.  The guy is praying for something....deliverance?

 I think these are spiders...eh?

Suddenly it was Boy oh Boy.  Bill came to ya'lls rescue.

Hey Peggy, these are for you.  They're only 5 feet tall.
We turned and walked into the woods on another trail, a strenuous trail I might add.  That's when we came upon the state bird of Alaska.  Where's our bug zapper when we need it.

WASP! And I don't mean white, anglo saxon protestant.

Where's Steven King?  This is weird stuff.  He should be here.

Okay, I guess we'll settle for Big Bird.  What's he doing here though?

Surrendering or Rejoicing or Fleeing?  You decide.

Now we're getting a little creepy.

Really?  Someone gave the hand a tip?

Here's a tip...get out while you can.....

Is this Snow White.  She doesn't look very happy.

Is this the evil queen?  OMG...it's a hatched pod!

This one doesn't look very happy either.

The next three are either alien or fall under the WTF catagory.

Okay, so maybe we will get out alive.  Flowers and stuff.  My brain and imagination is weakening.

I'm guessing this is suppose to be a flower.

A brain teaser.

Tumblers on a Disc?

I got this one.  A butterfly chair.

Wondering if this is the man responsible for all this crazy wonderfulness.

What a neat tree.

I'm calling her the "silent woman".  I shall follow her lead and end today's entry.

Thanks for visiting and putting up with this silly day.  See you soon.
