Beach Boys at the Atlanta Rally

A Rally is a Rally is a Rally but the Beach Boys entertaining at a Rally....well what fun fun fun.

Walking over to the entry gate sat the pace car for the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

6 p.m. and all pink haired, blue haired, bald headed and grey headed seniors politely and in an orderly fashion got in line to go into the grandstands for the Beach Boys.

View from inside the grandstand looking down on the speedway.

Another grandstand across the speedway.  There are even condos with balconies overlooking the speedway.

Another beautiful sunset waiting for the Beach Boys to begin.

And finally the Beach Boys begin.

There will be some good vibrations tonight,

even with these old men.  Of course now some of their band and singers are younger and looking more like the original Beach Boys.

We weren't quite up in the nosebleed section but we high enough.  And wouldn't it be nice to have wormed our way closer but what a view we had.

The Beach Boys performing last night included founding Beach Boy Mike Love, his son Christian Love, Beach Boy veteran Bruce Johnston,  Randell Kirsch, Tom Bonhomme, John Cowsill of the Cowsills and Scott Totten.  The only surviving original Wilson brother of the three original Beach Boys has his own band now, Brian Wilson.  Two brothers, Dennis Wilson drowned years ago and Carl Wilson died of cancer not too long ago.

This was our preforming group last night.
I have a hard time recognizing who's who.  But Mike Love is on the keyboard on the right front stage and his son Christian is behind him, I think.

That looks like Brian Wilson to me but what do I know.  I can't see distance or close up too good these days.

Mike Love on the keyboard

God Only Knows, one of Carl Wilson's best. was preformed by the group with the video of Carl Wilson singing showing on the big screen.

Here's some shots of the original cuties.

It was a long performance, almost 90 minutes, no breaks.  They preformed songs from the Mamas and Papas, and other famous artists but mostly their own.  It was a great evening and lots of

Tomorrow night we get to see Vince Gill preform.  Check back for an update and thanks for visiting.  See you soon.
