Across Florida's Panhandle

Bill and I left Styx River RV Resort early Tuesday morning.  Larry and Gail crawled out of their warm bed to wave goodbye.  We left a few days early to do some serious motorhome hunting.  It wasn't long before we rolled into Florida, about 13 miles from the park, headed east.

We had a beautiful drive through the panhandle of Florida.  We never even got a glimpse of Tallahassee, with Hwy 10 routed north of it.

A few sprinkles here and there but a great travel day.

We pulled into Dixie RV and viewed a few motorhomes.  Nope, not these.

I guess I was expecting hundreds of crawling alligators on the roads and gator roadkill along the sides.  Never saw anything like that.  Sure didn't expect such pretty rolling hills, beautiful trees and peaceful lakes/ponds, which is where the gators hide I guess. Very nice.

There was plenty of fall foliage to see too.

Lots of pastures with plenty of cows for Lilly to enjoy.
Clouds were piling up but no rain.  We got as far as the Hotel WalMart in Live Oak.  Good place to stay.

End of Day One

Day Two was foggy.

Yep, this is about all we saw from Lake City down to the exit ramp 329, just before the toll road.

Arrived at Orlando Thousand Trails in sunshine.  We are settle in and miss Larry and Gail.

If you see them tell them we'll see them Sunday when they catch up.  Hopefully we'll have found a newer motorhome by then.

Thanks for visiting.  See you back here soon.

Go to Lazy Days near Tampa. Lots of motorhomes there. You might get to stay for free in their Rv park for a complimentary 3 nights. Also they serve a comp breakfast and lunch. Good luck on your search.
