Hilton Head

Hilton Head Island is a resort town about 20 miles north of Savannah, Georgia.  Hilton Head has the distinction of being in South Carolina.  I'm not sure that's a good thing or not.  We drove over to Hilton Head to be impressed.  Yes, it's manicured but dang there's so much attention taken to preserving the "natural environment" that you literally cannot see the forest through the trees...let alone the stores along the road.  But it's pretty.  Lot's of marsh and lowcountry swampland.

What would possess someone to buy land with alligators as your nearest neighbors.  Why not a houseboat and swim ashore each morning and night.  But it's pretty.

I had to take a picture of the tree that darn near decapitated Bill.  We walked in the street coming back.

Beautiful bronze fresco's set into the boardwalk.

Not too many people out this morning.  Can you imagine in the summer.

We stopped here for lunch.  Waited almost an hour and never did get any food.  Just one of those days I guess.

So much for Hilton Head.  Randy and Sherry had a much more favorable experience.  But it's still pretty.

Thanks for visiting.  March is now done.  Come back soon.
