North Carolina Lake Gaston Sunsets 4/11/14

We left South Carolina and Myrtle Lakes for North Carolina 11 days ago, on April 11th, which means I'm only 11 days behind on the Blog.  Our destination was the north border of North Carolina, Lake Gaston in Littleton.  We are talking about the middle of nowhere, but it was pretty.

Lots of farmland, cattle and horses.

And then we were there.  Outdoor World in Littleton.  A beautiful park, lots of trees, a great huge lake, no cell phone reception, no satellite television, just ourselves to keep each other company.  Okay, you better have a boat, canoe, kayak, inner tube or something that floats if you're going to stay here.  We had none of those items so we opted to bail early and head up to Williamsburg.

So the short and sweet is we went into town a couple of times and did some shopping and sightseeing.  The closest WalMart was 23 miles away but I want to share the beauty of the park and some of the people we met during our short stay.

What did I tell you about trees.  Don't even bother with your dish.

Downtown Littleton above is now, below is 1915, almost a hundred years ago.  Hardly any change.

Minnie Pearl????

No it's our own Sherry Pearl!

We found a great antique and new stuff store. Rebe the owner was delightful.  We went twice.

Now for some of the fantastic sunsets.   Looking down from our site towards the lake.

Aaaaahhhh....how sweet.

Farewell Lake Gaston.  Off to Williamsburg, Virginia.  Hope you enjoyed the pretty pictures of this park.
