Maine and Oh Yes, LOBSTER

Well we sure picked a fine day to leave Cape Cod.  Friday the 13th and pouring down rain.  Even a duck would have enough sense to stay put but not us.  Off we went on a 140 mile journey into three states.

About half way there the passenger windshield wiper threw a hissy fit and we thought it had flown off into lalaland, never to be seen again.  That was not the case though.  I leaned over the dash, smushed my face against the icy cold window and there it was, just laying down on the job.  Taking a wee nap it seemed.  We stopped so Bill could fix it but no amount of coaxing could convince it to keep my side of the windshield clear.  So this my friends is my view of our trip.  It's not raining too hard yet.

This is more like it.  At least it's getting the bugs off.  Now why Bill kept asking me to read the road signs I don't know, but needless to say, he was pretty much on his own.

I did tell him when we got into Maine.

The next day was much nicer and we went out for a bowl of chowder.  So much for plans.  Lobster was the weekend special, for father's only.  So Bill splurged and I settled for clam strips.  Such a hardship.

Nice restaurant if you're in the neighborhood of Wells Beach.
This is Wells Beach.  We drove back the next day and it was gone...the water was still there, but the sand and rocks were gone.

And what a surprise.  Haven't seen one of these for years.  Quite the antique.

We'll rest and relax today.  Tomorrow Larry, Randy and Sherry will arrive at the park. They want to come back for lobster again.  So I guess that's what we'll do for Father's Day.  Thanks for visiting, come back soon.
