Hershey Reserve
The boys with their grandpa and dad went down to the lake for a little fishing. Didn't catch anything but sure had fun.
Grandpa and Austin
The next day we all went to Hersheyland and Chocolate World.
Chocolate World
The Hershey factory stacks. Candy is being made. Yah.
Hershey is all about chocolate, flowers and everything sweet and pretty.
Austin and Hunter. We are just getting started on a seven hours adventure of candy, gatoraid and rollercoasters.
And would any day be complete without a tour of how chocolate is made? No comment.
And our parting view and very welcome. The tour was actually sort of cute except for the singing cows.
First thing we had to determine height restriction and rider classification for the rollercoasters. Hunter was a JollyRancher. Austin, being a few inches shorter was a Hershey.
Hersheyland
Hersheyland was very clean and lots of pretty photo ops areas.
Grandpa and Hunter coming back on the Skyway. Austin was with me.
Some of these rides are amazing. Hunter and Austin went on nearly all of them.
Austin couldn't go on the this rollercoaster but I did manage to catch a photo of Hunter flying by overhead.
No Hunter and Austin did not drop out of this one either.
No stuffed donut. Gee, darn.
Like I said, some very pretty grounds and scenery mixed in with all the terror.
And now the water rides. Good thing it was a nice warm afternoon and evening.
A bit drenched...but once was not enough. They ran to get in line again.
That was the end of the water rides. It was cooling off and we hadn't brought a change of clothes.
What a pretty ferris wheel.
It was a beautiful night and a huge moon.
We moved on Tuesday morning in the pouring rain over to the Gettysburg Farm in Dover. What a great park. We got a fantastic site and were lucky enough to park right next to Larry and Gail.
Gettysburg Farm
Across the road from us and actually scattered around the park are corn fields.
Little goats run free around the park. They are adorable.
Porky wanted to come visit Lucy and Lilly but couldn't get out of his pen. I'll give him an A for effort.
On Thursday, August 14th Grandpa and the Boys had a day in Gettysburg seeing the sites and going on a Ghost Hunt.
Gettysburg Battlefield
Driving through the Battlefield there are many monuments placed by various states to honor those fallen. We will be going on a tour of the Battlefield on Monday after the boys leave and I'll do a full report then.
I recognize this monument as the one from the State of Pennsylvania.
The pictures Bill took from his Ghost Hunt were very dark but I've included some that I thought were interesting. This one below I swear has an image of a confederate soldier in the second from the right window.
Hunter conjuring up the ghosts. He said he'd asked the ghost if it wanted them to leave.
The metal bars spread apart meaning YES!!!! If they had crossed that would have meant NO.
It is now Saturday morning. Mommy and Daddy are arriving today and the boys visit will be over soon. We had a full week of swimming, putput golf, rollercoasters and playing. Now go home and give your parents some payback.
