Clinton Library Little Rock, Arkansas NON POLITICAL

This blogpage will be mostly pictures with some identification editing only.  You like Clinton or you don't.  End of subject.

This building below was the original train station in Little Rock.  It was abandoned and left to rot. The entire area of the Clinton Library was a toxic waste site along the Arkansas River when Clinton bought it and decided that was the location for his Presidential Library.  You should see it today.  It's beautiful.

The front side of depot.

Ahead in the distance you can see the railroad bridge that crossed the Arkansas River and pulled into the old depot immediately behind me from this picture.

It is now called the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge.  The etched train is superimposed over the view through to the bridge.  Very cool.

A few exterior shots of the Library.  The entire site was dug out and all the toxic soil removed and replace.  The park surrounding is beautiful.

On the bridge

Larry and Gail walking the bridge.

Inside is a Chihuly Exhibit.  Chihuly is from Seattle.

Below is the Cabinet Room, re-created.  It has been the center of presidential decision making ever since 1902, when it was added to the West Wing by President Theodore Roosevelt.  The president always sat in the center of the table, a position of honor.

Accomplishments in office to name a few.

Brady Bill signed into law. (requires background check before purchase of handguns.)

NAFTA signed.  (North American Free Trade Agreement)
'
Family and Medical Leave Act.  (Fulfill family responsibilities without fear of losing job.)

Growth of the Internet.  (Originally developed for military use, and became a global medium for commerce and communication.)

Anti-terrorism law signed. (provisions to combat terrorism at home and abroad, prevent terrorist from entering U.S. and increase controls over biological and chemical weapons.  Followed the 1995 bombing of Oklahoma City).

Telecommunications Act signed.  (provided for low-cost internet connections for schools, libraries, hospitals)

Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland invited to join NATO.

Impeachment

Just some of the Chihuly Exhibit.

It was a beautiful Library.  The prettiest I've seen so far.  There is also a penthouse on the top roof that the Clinton's visit occasionally.  It is said he goes up the same elevator as everyone else.

I hope that wasn't too hard on my Republican fiends.  And my Democratic friends I hope you enjoyed.

Come back again.  Got all our Branson Entertainment coming up next.  Susan
