Head Shoulders Knees and Knee

Bill arrived back from London barely able to walk.  The next morning I drove him into the Emergency Room at Milton Hershey University Hospital.  They took one look, gave him Percoset and told him to stay off it and go see an Orthopedic Specialist.  Still no xrays so we didn't know what we're looking at in that old knee.  Surgery, knee replacement, could he drive?  His knee was as big as a melon.  After two days and marginal improvement we made an appointment for him in Lancaster to see a specialist.

I'll add that when Bill flew to Seattle last month he'd recently hurt his knee swinging our grandsons around in the pool.  When he came back to PA, while we were still in Gettysburg farm, he was limping.

Hind site he probably should not have gone to London till it was better.  We kept thinking it was a strain.  While in Seattle his doc took no xrays either.  He aspirated 35 cc from the knee and sent him on his way. Bill's way was to the dance hall with friends from home and some golf with old buddies.  Not what the doctor ordered.

So here we are, a month after the injury and it's as bad as ever.  So scroll down to see what these doctors found.

Xrays revealed arthritis in his knee.  We suspected that.  What we didn't expect was 110 cc coming out of his knee.

An ace bandage and a stern warning to rest it and we were off, once again.  Bill felt GREAT!!!  We forbid dancing, golfing and yes he could go to Walmart with us but he had to ride the cart.  I really think he's enjoying this.

By morning he was feeling even better and able to drive.  We'll take baby steps and some park rest along the way.  So we're off south to Virginia again.  To Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson.

Don't forget to dig deep to find these latest blogs.  I'm tearing through them so the older one will get buried below the latest ones.  Thanks for visiting.
