We'd extended our stay in Littlefork so we could attend a dinner gathering of the clan at Pat and Jim Rasmussen's home. This morning we packed everything up after the rain of the night before. It was surprising how dry everything was, especially the wonderful Beasley Mat. After some last minute good byes we waddled down the road with nearly full water tanks and a scenic drive ahead of us. Larry led the way.
Larry says goodbye to Pat Rasmussen, no doubt thanking her for the great dinner the night before.
The route we took north to Littlefork allowed
us to stop in Virginia at the mining exhibits.
The route we took south was purely scenic. And it was beautiful.
Through the woods
Through the small towns, so quaint and green
Through the cute but small downtowns.
Lots of interesting clouds, some brought rain drops but nothing serious.
Can you guess what filter I used for this shot?
Yep, the window screen.
The trip home took a little longer than the trip going north. The roads were better, no traffic, only 12 miles further and we got to enjoy more of the beautiful scenery of Minnesota. We're back in Barnum now. Feels good. Had dinner with Joe and Larry and Bill and I at the Panda in Cloquet. Went to bed early to nurse our colds...thanks Eric.

Love the photos. It is so beautiful in northern MN. And Eric says "you're welcome"!
