Bye Bye Barnum, Hello Michigan

Seriously, with faces like these, their first flight alone on a plane, coming to see Grandpa Bill and Grandma Susan for the first time alone...who wouldn't show them the best time possible.  We wanted to find the right RV park that provided as much activities and fun as these two munchkins could handle for a week.  We checked out the available parks in Minnesota but decided Michigan might be a better option for us and the boys. Detroit it is.

We had a great three weeks in Barnum with Larry and his huge family of brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces, and on and on.  At the reunion in Littlefork I think we met most of them.

We had dinner with Larry, his brother Keith and sister in law Kate along with two of their grandchildren Kennedy and Jordan.

Camp Barnum we bid you a fond farewell.  See you in a month Larry and don't forget to bring Gail.

So off we went, down the gravel Pine Rd., looking back at Larry's rig and our little Misty girl.  We'll miss them a lot this coming month but we will have lots of tales to spin when he and Gail catch up with us in St. Clair, Michigan.  We'll be going to Niagara Falls, and all over the place.  That will be some amazing pictures.

Today we drove north toward Duluth and crossed the bridge into Wisconsin.

And a hearty welcome from Wisconsin we got too.

A beautiful small marina along the way.

And what would a trip to Michigan be without a visit to this Hall of Fame.  Not really sure.  We didn't go in.

Lots of beautiful scenery.  We drove along lakes, and great stretches of Lake Superior that looked more like the Pacific Ocean than a lake.

Arrived in Marquette, Michigan about 6:30 tonight.  Our room at the wonderful Wal-Marquette included a lovely room with a view of Lake Superior.

Tomorrow we're heading to Mackinac Island.  Hey Larry, we miss you and Misty.  Made dinner and had leftovers...no one to eat that third portion.  Want me to save it in the freezer for ya?
