Hyannis to Chatham along Cape Cod

Today we all piled into the car and headed east along Cape Cod.  First stop was Hyannis and Hyannisport.  There was a beautiful memorial to John F. Kennedy, our 35th President.  I knew the Kennedy's were from Massachusetts and Hyannis so why I was surprised to see a memorial to Kennedy I couldn't say, but I was.  And it was a good surprise.  I suppose if we'd been searching for it would have been one thing but to drive straight to it not knowing it was there was another.

John F. Kennedy rose.
A breezy day for sure.  The Hyannis Yacht Club dock below.  I can visualize the Kennedy's and family sailing off on regattas.

Alongside the Kennedy Memorial was a Memorial to The Forgotten War.  The Korean War Memorial. June 25, 1950 to July 17, 1953.

Hyannis Beach

A huge home on the beach.

A brief drive through part of the town, a couple of thrift shops and off we went to Chatham on the farthest east point of the Cape before heading north.

We arrived in Chatham just in time for lunch.

No kidding about lunch time.
We were referred to Squires as a local's restaurant.

Lots of cute boutiques, gift shops, and art galleries.  This duck shop was really cute.  Every imaginable character duck on the shelves.

A Mermaid Whirl e gig

Bill and Larry heading back to the car.  We won't go further up the Cape this trip.

It was such a pretty and sunny day.  See you soon and again, thanks for visiting.
