Shain's of Maine

People from around here told us of this amazing little place just up the road and to the left called Shain's of Maine where you could get a Lobster Roll for $5.99.  So everyone was off to check it out.  The just to your left turned out to be about 10 miles inland in a town called Sanford.  Considering the yumminess of the food it was worth the drive.  Shain's is actually an ice cream store.  One of 10,000 just in our area.  With so much competition for ice cream sales he tried a new strategy.  Get customers in for rock bottom lobster rolls and then they'll buy his ice cream.  He said it works about 60% of the time.  Good business man.

Shain's greeter.

Just a sample of his menu...yes, it's plastered on the wall.  No drinks served.  Use the coke machine in the corner.
We ordered clam chowder and a lobster roll special for $7.99.  It was delicious.  I wish I knew how to make TV dinners out of these. I'd take a half dozen with us when we leave.

Bill meeting Shain and gathering our order.

Bill ordered ours plain with a sprinkling of butter.

Larry ordered his regular with a light mayo dressing on the lobster.  I don't think there's any doubt Larry is planning to enjoy his lobster roll.

We were too full for ice cream but we will be back for another lobster roll.

Keep Shain's in mind if you're coming to Moody Beach.  Thanks for visiting, come back soon.
