Fourth of July in the Catskills

Happy Fourth of July!!

We are all decked  out with stars and strips spinners and bunting.

It rained all day on the 4th and finally around 3 p.m. the rain stopped, the sun came out, we barbecued and took a long digestive walk around the park.  The park was packed with tents, popups, trailers, fifth wheels, little motor homes and big motor homes.  There must have been nearly 1500 plus people milling around just having a great time.

Rondout Valley Thousand Trails Park is one of the nicest ever.  The manager Charlie Cane is friendly and all his employees are helpful and friendly too.  The park definitely caters to children.  They're everywhere, playing, riding bikes, swimming in the pool.  Of course the pool is not heated but that doesn't seem to matter to kids.

A live band was playing down by the pool field.  People were dancing in the streets.

In the field was a character artist with a long line of customers.

I had been admiring this little trailer all color coordinated in red.  Met the owners who actually work at the park.  Bruce in maintenance and Sheila in the office.

There were fireworks until 10 p.m. and Lucy was beside herself with worry.  I guess old age is getting the best of her.  She's fine now and only gets beside herself when the daily thunderstorms go through.

Paul, Kim, Hunter and Austin came out for the day.  Sure glad it ended on sunshine.  We had plenty to eat.  Larry joined us and a good time was had by all.  Hope your 4th was GREAT!!!

Sounds like fun!!
The 4th in Tacoma with sun and 80+ degrees, fireworks on the waterfront and lots of friends and good food-- not hard to take staying home this year.
Enjoying your adventures.
