Goodbye Rushmore Shadows, Hello Wall and 1880 Town

Downtown Wall, South Dakota

Not too crowded, lots of sunshine.

This store takes up the entire town and is one long, continuous store, moving from one collection of souvenirs to t-shirt to sculptures to jewelry to you name it.

Let me just rest my feet next to this nice man.  I can't believe how cooperative and quiet he was.

After a fast hour we loaded back in the rigs and off we went in search of  1880 Town.

Just 20 miles west of Murdo, South Dakota.  This town is mostly compiled of props and sets for the filming of the movie Dances with Wolves, with Kevin Costner.  There are also two buildings I know of, at Fort Hayes, SD that were also used to film the movie.

1880 Town feels exactly like you'd imagine a town built during that time period would feel.  You've seen these towns in many pictures.  What's really amazing is the short period of time that's gone by to what we know and live in today.

Bill and Larry having a "guys only" discussion on weight control.  Bill refuses to step on the scale.  Larry is in the convincing mode.

Can't have a western town without your local longhorn

1880 was all about hard work
