Horseshoe to Indian Lakes

We left Horseshoe Lakes at 9 a.m. Sunday morning heading to Indian Lakes in Batesville.  Hmmmm.  It was an interesting drive going along US 46 for 170 miles....one small town after another and one hill after another.  And as mother nature would have it, for ever hill up is another one down, with a curve thrown in for good measure.  Finally it flattened out and around a corner we came into Columbus.  Neat bridge

and town.

Dang is that a tree growing out the top of the clock tower?  Only in Indiana.

Another small town...Greensburg.  Nice place.

We kept driving...one corn field after another, one barn after another until we arrived at Indian Lakes.

Great to finally arrive,  but this park proved to be a real mess.  We spent two hours looking for a site that had electric power enough to keep us out of the red on our volt meter and water that worked.  First place we picked had do-do for power and a water pump with barely enough pressure for one rig but we'd have to share it.  It was hot and we were not very impressed.  So we drove around with a plug, volt meter and my hair dryer.  Finally found a couple of sites that were an improvement.  Nothing to write home about.  The general condition of the park, on a scale of 1-10 is a 2 or 3.

The park is huge and could be beautiful, which seems to describe more and more Encore/TT parks.

If a site even had a picnic table it was in pitiful condition.  Why even keep a table like this at a site?  Our site had none.  Guess we were lucky.

We had a great dinner all the same with pecan pie and ice cream to finish it off.  Lilly got the empty ice cream container and spent 10 minutes with her face buried, just licking away.  There was barely anything in it to start with.

Oh Lilly.  What a sight you are.  More on you than in you.

So that's about it for Indian Lakes.  We've decided to move on after a road trip tomorrow to check out that roof top tree in Columbus.  Thanks for visiting.  See you soon.
