Night three with the Vogues

Just about entertained out...night three of entertainment, hard bleachers, and cold butts....but that's the retired life.  It's a dirty job butt someone has to do it.

Tonight we see the Vogues.  They were a big sensation between 1965 and 1968.  The Beatles arrived and it was goodbye Vogues.  They did have some very recognizable hits and preformed on Ed Sullivan, Mike Douglas Show, American Bandstand and numerous others.  A few of their top hits include Turn Around Look At Me, My Special Angel, You're The One, Moments to Remember, Five O'Clock World, etc.  A great harmony group.

On the left is Lynn Royce Taylor, Lead & 1st Tenor Vocals, 1991-1997, 2013-present.

Below, Troy Elich, Lead, Baritone Vocals, 2000-present.

They also preformed many great Coaster's songs and Beach Boy's songs, plus some country and miscellaneous. They shined during the harmony songs....their own.

Troy Elich had a great sense of humor, joking and clowning around with Royce Taylor who was a wonderful impersonator of different characters and singers. He did a great impersonation of Edith and Archie Bunker singing their theme song for All In The Family.

Prior to the show beginning they showed the helicopter that circled the Speedway taking aerial photos. I'll post some here and apologize for the chicken wire. We had front row seats but the view wasn't as good actually as the evenings before. There were 2718 rigs on site. That's a lot of motorhomes.

We are about 10 rigs past the right upper edge of this picture.

We did two laps on a trial run in a Monaco Diplomat. Sure loved the air ride but not the coach. Didn't buy it.







Room for lots more but this was plenty to contend with.

It's pretty rural around this area though there are plenty of restaurants and shopping areas. Atlanta itself is about 20 miles north of here. We didn't go anywhere near it.


So tomorrow morning we head out to Chattanooga, Tennessee.
