Wishes and Windshields

We sure do love Tennessee.  In fact two days in a row we've gone off in the truck for our daily WalMart Trek and taken an hour to cover a 15 minute drive.  Why we've found stuff we weren't even looking for...like some real cute cabins.  Nothing like a cute piece of real estate to get the mind churning....now I can see us building a pole barn, site for the motorhome, a cute cabin, a home base, and lots of directions to explore.

 And finally we reached mecca.....

Mission accomplished we stopped for a McFlurry....oh yummm.  We haven't seen a DQ for over a week...come on Tennessee....guess we'll have to wait till we get to Mississippi.

Now we head back to the barns...and under the infamous bridge that motorhomes love to crunch.  If you come to this park you absolutely have to go onto the dirt path alongside the road....or you'll do this to the bridge....and who knows what kind of damage to your rig.  You don't want to know!!!!

You go to the left side...well there's no room on the right so this is a no- brainer.  There are chunks of concrete missing on the underside all the way through.




And of course people crunch going both ways.

So much for one day.  The following morning was overcast and ORANGE.  What else can you call this?

There's a big storm brewing with rain coming late this afternoon.  We have a windshield that's needing replacement.  Time crunch.  We wait and hope they come...finally they arrive with our new windshield.

I'm sure gonna miss this crack that keeps growing.

And here sits our brand new windshield.  Ain't she purtty?

 But before it goes in they gotta get the cracked one out.

Gotta get the "tools" and really focus.

And with a third guy inside sawing into the window it finally peals loose.  Shows how much these windows can withstand before they go.

 Out with the old.  Now to prep the new.





















That's one big open area in the rig.  Hey you're letting the ladybugs in....

Lots of sealant around the opening.

Here comes the new one...easy guys...you only brought one and it's about to rain.

A whole lot of mushing and squshing and it's set.  So much trim was sent with the window we got all new put in around both sides.  It looks like new again...well the window does.

Can't forget the paperwork.  Cost to us...ZERO.  Got an offer we couldn't refuse at the Atlanta Rally in October.  Thank you RV Glass Solutions for waiving our deductible and getting this done in Tennessee.

Finished at 4 p.m.  A 2 hour job that ended none too soon.  By 5 p.m. it was pouring rain and it rained all evening.  Tomorrow we'll head out early for Tishomingo State Park where we'll park and then drive over to Red Bay, Alabama to visit the Tiffin factory.
