Cemeteries

Enjoying the peacefulness of cemeteries Randy, Sherry and I went off to explore two cemeteries I had previously seen along my drive to scope out the train we'd take to Boston.  The benefit of today is we stopped to explore and the day was sunny and beautiful.  At Saint Andrews Traditional Anglican Church we viewed both the graveyard attached and the Rock Cemetery across the road.

The Graveyard attached to the church had most of the oldest graves.

Nathaniel Barrows headstone was one of the oldest we found.  His goes back to 1736, the year he was born.

Further down the road from the church is the smaller Wapanucket Cemetery.  Then we spotted a smaller cemetery nestled in the trees between two houses.  It was a family graveyard.  The Vaughn Family.

Off we went again and stopped to take a picture of this scenic little shed along the road.

And even in Massachuettes they have people with weird humor.  This is a mailbox..can you even find the door?

We decided to drive and try to find the actual town of Rochester.  We did find Llyod's Market and a memorial across the way dedicated to Rochester fire fighters.

Guess what Lloyd's last name is  Vaughn..remember the family graveyard.  He was one of them.

We never did find the Town of Rochester but we did have a nice drive trying to find it.  Rain is forecast for tomorrow but we'll be heading for a drive down the Cape.  Come back soon.
